Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train on July 17, 2026, at Jind Railway Station. The zero-emission train operates on the Northern Railway network in Haryana, running between Jind and Sonipat, with ticket fares ranging from ₹5 to ₹25.
On the occasion, Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation as well as lay the foundation stone of National Highway projects worth over 12 thousand 470 crore rupees in Haryana. Mr Modi dedicated the 157 kilometer long Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
The Greenfield corridor forms part of the 667 kilometer Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. The expressway will reduce travel time between Delhi and Katra from about 14 hours to nearly six hours, while cutting the Delhi-Amritsar journey from about eight hours to four hours.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने हरियाणा के जींद स्टेशन से भारत की पहली हाइड्रोजन ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाई। यह ट्रेन जींद और सोनीपत के बीच 89 किलोमीटर के रूट पर चलेगी। 89 किलोमीटर की इस यात्रा का एक तरफ का किराया 25 रुपये तय किया गया है। देश की पहली हाइड्रोजन ट्रेन है। जिसे पी एम ने हरी झंडी दिखाकर भारत के हरित, आधुनिक और आत्मनिर्भर भविष्य की ऐतिहासिक शुरुआत की।
