Rajya Sabha Election 2026:
The Election Commission announced biennial elections for 37 seats of the Rajya Sabha in 10 states. Seven seats in Maharashtra, six seats in Tamil Nadu, five seats each in Bihar and West Bengal, four seats in Odisha, three seats in Assam, two seats each in Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, and one seat in Himachal Pradesh are falling vacant. The notification for the polls will be issued on the 26th of this month, and nominations can be filed till 5th March.
Polling will be held on the 16th of March. Union Ministers Ramnath Thakur and Ramdas Athawale, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar, RLM leader Upendra Kushwaha, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, AIADMK leader M Thambidurai, and DMK leader Tiruchi Shiva are among those who are completing their tenure in the Upper House in April.
राज्यसभा चुनाव 2026 में 10 राज्यों की 37 सीटों के लिए 16 मार्च को वोटिंग होगी। राज्यसभा की ये सीटें अप्रैल 2026 में खाली होने वाली हैं.राज्यसभा की 37 सीटों के लिए 16 मार्च को वोटिंग है और नतीजे भी उसी दिन आएंगे। कुल 245 सदस्यों वाली राज्यसभा में 233 चुने जाते हैं, और ये चुनाव छह साल के चक्र का हिस्सा हैं। यह चुनाव मुख्य रूप से महाराष्ट्र, तमिलनाडु, बिहार, पश्चिम बंगाल, ओडिशा, असम, तेलंगाना, छत्तीसगढ़, हरियाणा और हिमाचल प्रदेश के सदस्यों के लिए हैं। इस चुनाव में रामनाथ ठाकुर, रामदास अठावले, हरिवंश, शरद पवार, अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी, एम. थंबीदुरई और तिरुची शिवा जैसे कई प्रमुख नेताओं का कार्यकाल समाप्त हो रहा है।
चुनाव आयोग के मुताबिक राज्यसभा चुनाव का नोटिफिकेशन 26 फरवरी 2026 को जारी होगा। नामांकन दाखिल करने की आखिरी तारीख 5 मार्च 2026 है. नामांकनों की जांच 6 मार्च को होगी, जबकि नाम वापस लेने की अंतिम तारीख 9 मार्च 2026 है. राज्यसभा चुनाव के लिए वोटिंग 16 मार्च 2026 को सुबह 9 बजे से शाम 4 बजे तक होगी। इसके बाद रिजल्ट की बारी आएगी। मतगणना उसी दिन शाम 5 बजे शुरू होगी। चुनाव प्रक्रिया पूरी करने की अंतिम तारीख 20 मार्च 2026 है।
